—————————————————————

What forces shape migrant experiences, migrants' identiities, and notions of "home" and "place"?

—————————————————————

What empowers migrants and migrant communities and waht obstacles do they experience?

How does migration shape cultures, communities, and everyday life and how can societies respond with understanding and compassion?

This lab investigates migration to the United States and Western Europe, focusing on cultural expression, community building, and the challenges surrounding migration today. We will examine the major forces that drive human movement and shape how communities respond. Through discussion, fieldwork, and creative inquiry, we will engage Phoenix as one case study of migration among others. Grounded in open-minded dialogue, the lab encourages students to think critically and act compassionately.
